Yes. They're scheduled locally. You'll receive them even when the app is closed. If you grant 'Always' location access, Vakit quietly recalculates after you travel.
Yes. The whole app is free: no subscription, no paywall, no 'premium' tier, nothing locked. If you want to support it you can donate or choose to watch an ad; neither unlocks anything.
They're not fetched from a server. Vakit calculates them on your device using the method you pick — 13 are available — and your local coordinates.
The app's interface is in 25 languages: Turkish, English, Arabic, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Danish, Russian, Azerbaijani, Albanian, Indonesian, Malay, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Persian, Uyghur, Swahili and Fula. If your device language is supported, the app opens in it automatically; you can change it in Settings at any time. In Arabic, Urdu, Persian and Uyghur the whole interface runs right to left. Content translations, however, are in Turkish and English only for now: the Quran translation, transliteration and hadith translations come in those two languages; word meanings are English only, and some hadith collections are only partly translated into Turkish. With the Arabic interface, an Arabic tafsir opens for part of the Quran; the Friday sermon comes in the languages Diyanet publishes it in (Turkish, and in some weeks English and Arabic).
iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac. On iPad it is the same app on a bigger screen, and your records stay identical across devices through iCloud. Since 1.7.0 Vakit runs on Mac too: next prayer and countdown in the menu bar, keyboard shortcuts, desktop widgets, and tabs in the sidebar from macOS 15. Prayer times, Quran, hadith, dhikr and worship records sync with your iPhone over the same iCloud account. The Qibla tab shows the bearing and distance to the Ka'bah as text, since Macs have no compass hardware.
Yes. With the Adhan option each prayer plays in its own makam: Fajr saba, Dhuhr ussak, Asr rast, Maghrib segah, Isha hicaz. You can also set a different notification sound per prayer. The recordings ship with the app, so playing them needs no connection.
Yes. You can set an alarm that rings before sunrise if you haven't prayed Fajr yet; mark the prayer as done and it stays silent. On iOS 26 it is a real alarm that breaks through silent mode; on earlier versions it arrives as a notification. There's also a suhoor alarm for Ramadan, every day, or the recommended fasting days.
The khutbah Diyanet publishes each week lands in the app; you can read it, listen to the audio recording, and download it for offline reading. Because it is Diyanet's publication, this section appears for users whose calculation method is Diyanet.
All 114 surahs, word-by-word analysis, Diyanet tafsir, traditional Mushaf view, audio recitation, and a hatim tracker. The text, translation and tafsir work offline; recitation plays offline for the surahs or juz you download.
An Activity Ring-style view logs your prayers, Quran reading, and dhikr. You can also track a lifetime of missed prayers (qada) by time slot and clear the debt as you pray them. Streaks and gentle statistics help you keep going, without guilt.

Yes. The Apple Watch app shows prayer times (countdown + list), a live qibla compass, and 13 complications. It works alongside iPhone — no separate setup.
Your records themselves — qada ledger, khatm, bookmark list, reading history, favourite mosques — stay on your device and in your own private iCloud. What reaches the server is usage statistics: the prayer you mark, your daily worship counts, the number of an ayah or hadith you save. Your dhikr list and the words you search for inside the app go too — so we can see where search failed you and fix it. Your zakat amounts and coordinates are never sent; for location, only country, city and district go. All of it is tied to a persistent user code with no name, email or phone — a pseudonym, not anonymous. Details are in the privacy policy.
