1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Vakit, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this agreement. If you do not agree, please do not use this service.
2. Description of Service
Vakit is a free app providing worship tools such as prayer times, qibla direction, Quran, hadith, a dhikr counter, prayer/ablution guides, khatm and worship tracking, the Friday sermon, nearby mosques, and a religious-day calendar. It runs on iOS 26+ and macOS 26+, and ships a companion Apple Watch app for watchOS 26+.
3. Free Use & Optional Donations
All core features of Vakit are free. The app shows no ads (except in the optional "Sadaka Mode" rewarded video ads, which the user starts themselves). Users who wish to support the developer can make optional donations of ₺75 / ₺149 / ₺349 / ₺749 from the "Vakit'i Yaşat" screen. These donations: • Are processed via Apple In-App Purchase (StoreKit 2). • Are consumable products; donations do not unlock additional features or subscriptions. • Refund requests can only be submitted through Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com). • Apple\'s payment terms and App Store rules apply.
4. Sadaka Mode (Rewarded Ad)
"Sadaka Mode" is an optional feature where the user voluntarily watches a short rewarded video ad to support the developer. The ad is served via Google AdMob. Use of this feature is not required; the feature can also be disabled remotely by the developer through Firebase Remote Config.
5. Apple Watch Companion App
Vakit ships a companion app on watchOS 26+ with prayer times, the qibla compass and complications. Use of the Watch app is subject to these Terms. Watch results may differ from iPhone due to Apple Watch hardware limitations (GPS accuracy, compass deviation, battery).
6. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for: • Selecting accurate location and calculation method • Using the app in compliance with applicable laws and App Store rules • Not attempting to reverse-engineer, crack, or misuse the app • Keeping your device and iCloud account secure (your data is synced across devices via Apple iCloud)
7. Third-Party Services
Vakit uses the following third-party services and is subject to their own terms: • Apple iCloud / CloudKit (user data sync) • Apple MapKit (nearby mosques, maps) • Firebase Crashlytics, Remote Config and Cloud Messaging (Google) • Google AdMob (only for Sadaka Mode) • Apple StoreKit 2 (donations) • Diyanet (Friday sermon text and audio) • Adhan library (prayer time calculation, open source) • SwiftAA (astronomical computation, open source) The terms and privacy policies of these services belong to their respective providers.
8. Intellectual Property
The app code and design are owned by Hakan Çelik; the app is open-source under the MIT license. Vakit uses third-party content and libraries respectfully: • Quran Arabic text: public domain • Turkish translation: Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı Meali • Hadith collections: derived from public-domain compilations • Quran recitation audio: artist permissions and licenses listed in AUDIO-LICENSES.md • Adhan, SwiftAA, GRDB.swift: their respective open-source licenses The app uses adhan and recitation audio strictly for religious worship purposes.
9. Limitation of Liability
The app is provided "as is." Prayer times and qibla calculations strive to be accurate but: • Deviations may occur due to location accuracy, GPS signal, compass calibration and chosen calculation method. • For important worship decisions, confirmation from local religious authorities is recommended. • Apple Watch sensors (magnetic compass, GPS) may add additional deviation. • Data loss may occur due to iCloud sync issues, network outages, or device loss; back up critical data. The developer is not liable for direct or indirect damages arising from use of the app.
10. Account & Data Deletion
Vakit does not require an account. Deleting the app removes all local data. To remove iCloud-synced data: Settings > Delete My Account, or Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Vakit > Delete Data on iOS (System Settings > Apple Account > iCloud on Mac). If you want the usage statistics held on our server deleted, write to [email protected]; your request is fulfilled within 30 days at the latest.
11. Changes to Terms
These Terms may be updated as the app evolves and to reflect legal requirements. For material changes the "Last updated" date is refreshed and an in-app notice is shown. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Disputes will be resolved in Turkish courts; for consumer rights local consumer courts have jurisdiction. If you reside in the European Union, your local consumer rights are reserved.
